MIES

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886–1969), a world-renowned representative of modern architecture, left his mark on Brno with a single, yet truly exceptional project – Villa Tugendhat. This house, famous for its open layout and generous use of glass, steel, and luxurious materials, represents the pinnacle of modernist architecture and is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Villa Tugendhat is today one of the most important works of modern architecture in the world.

We find both the white colour characteristic of Fuchs's buildings and Wiesner's travertine here. However, the unique and instantly recognisable feature is the ebony wall surrounding the dining table, which gave shape to the Mies brooch in our collection.

Due to the natural material used, each piece is an original with its own unique pattern.
